Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This is a translation of the French version, which is the governing text. The ColisBF app is French-language; if the two ever differ, the French version applies.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms apply between ColisBF ("we", "us") and anyone who uses the ColisBF app, the ColisBF website, or the ColisBF shipping service — whether as a sender, as a parcel recipient, or simply to track a parcel. Using any of them means accepting these terms.

2. What ColisBF does

ColisBF is a parcel shipping service between the United States and Burkina Faso, in both directions. A sender books a parcel in the ColisBF app; a ColisBF agent receives it and groups it into a shipping carton; the carton travels; an agent at the destination records its arrival and hands each parcel to its recipient against a pickup code. Every step is recorded and visible to the sender.

3. Your account

  • You must give accurate information when you create an account, and keep it accurate.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email, so keep access to that mailbox secure.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to hold a ColisBF account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the "My Account" screen. What happens to your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Booking a parcel

  • You are responsible for what you put in a parcel, and for it being legal to ship in both the country it leaves and the country it enters.
  • You must give the recipient's real name and a phone number that reaches them. The arrival notification goes to that number, so a wrong number means the recipient is not told.
  • You only enter the numbers of recipients who agree to receive an SMS from ColisBF when their parcel arrives. That is the undertaking you gave for all of your parcels when you created your account; it is not asked again at each booking. See section 6.
  • A parcel can be edited or cancelled in the app until a ColisBF agent receives it. After that it is in the shipping chain and must be handled by contacting us.

5. Fees, pickup and the pickup code

  • The shipping fee is recorded by the ColisBF agent who receives the parcel, and becomes visible to the sender in the app at that moment. Fees are shown in the currency in which they were charged.
  • A parcel is handed over only once what is owed on it has been paid.
  • Each parcel has a pickup code. It is shown to the sender in the app, and the sender passes it to the recipient. The agent checks it at handover. It is deliberately never sent by SMS and never shown in public tracking — treat it as a shared secret between sender and recipient.

6. SMS Terms

ColisBF sends one kind of SMS message: a parcel arrival notification, telling a parcel's recipient that their parcel has arrived and is ready for pickup.

  • Who receives it: the person named as the recipient of a booked parcel, at the phone number the sender provided for them.
  • How consent is given: once, when the sender creates their ColisBF account. Before the account can be created, the sender accepts these Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy, and confirms that the recipients whose numbers they will enter, for every parcel they book, agree to receive an SMS from ColisBF when their parcel arrives. That undertaking covers each parcel booked afterwards; it is not asked again when a parcel is booked.
  • Frequency: one message per parcel. These messages are transactional and are not recurring.
  • Marketing: ColisBF sends no marketing or promotional SMS of any kind, and operates no SMS marketing programme.
  • Opting out: reply STOP to any ColisBF message to stop receiving them. You can also email us. Stopping SMS does not cancel the parcel — it means you will need to arrange pickup with the sender or with us directly.
  • Help: reply HELP, or email colisbf@colisbf.com.
  • Carriers: messages are delivered by Orange Burkina Faso for Burkina Faso (+226) numbers and by Twilio for other numbers, including United States (+1) numbers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Message and data rates may apply.

How we handle the phone numbers involved is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Tracking

Anyone holding a parcel number can look up that parcel's status on this website without an account. Public tracking shows the status, the recorded dates and the pickup location, with the recipient's name partly masked. It never shows a phone number and never shows the pickup code.

8. What we are responsible for, and what we are not

  • We take reasonable care of parcels in our possession and record each step of their journey.
  • We are not responsible for items that are prohibited, badly packed, or misdescribed by the sender, nor for delays caused by customs, carriers, or events outside our control.
  • We are not responsible for a parcel handed over against a correctly presented pickup code — that check is what identifies the recipient, which is why the code must not be shared further.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use ColisBF to ship anything illegal, to impersonate someone else, to enter a phone number belonging to someone who has not agreed to be contacted about a parcel, or to attempt to access parcels or accounts that are not yours. We may suspend or close an account that does.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Any material change will be announced in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.

11. Governing language

The French version of these terms is the governing text, as stated at the top of this page.
